Tempo is a layer-1 blockchain purpose-built for stablecoins and real-world payments, born from Stripe’s experience in global payments and Paradigm’s expertise in crypto tech.

Tempo’s payment-first design provides a scalable, low-cost predictable backbone that meets the needs of high-volume payment use cases. Our goal is to move money reliably, cheaply, and at scale. Our north star is simplicity for users: fintechs, traditional banks, merchants, platforms, and anyone else looking to move their payments into the 21st century.

We're building Tempo with design partners who are global leaders in AI, e-commerce, and financial services: Anthropic, Coupang, Deutsche Bank, DoorDash, Mercury, Nubank, OpenAI, Revolut, Shopify, Standard Chartered, Visa, and more.

We’re a team of crypto-optimists, building the infrastructure needed to bring real, substantial economic flows onchain. Our team primarily works in-person out of our San Francisco and NYC offices. We like to move fast and swing for the fences — join us!

The Role

We’re looking for a highly motivated executive assistant to join us at the ground floor and help our leadership team operate in an efficient, controlled way as the industry continues to explode in growth around us. We expect this person to have an extensive track record of managing complex tasks and relationships in startups, and of managing a diverse and ever-changing workload as the company grows.

Responsibilities

  • Play the role of gatekeeper for members of the leadership/executive team -- fielding calls, first communication stop, managing diary

  • High degree of professionalism and exercising strong judgment and discretion with confidential information

  • Strategic and proactive management of complex and varying day-to-day schedules, using Google Calendar and Google suite

  • Heavy event and travel coordination -- air, ground, hotel and all accommodations, all-team events

  • Performing an extensive array of core administrative tasks (e.g., preparing meeting materials, contributing to our internal database, chasing down signatures) and ad hoc special projects

  • Planning and executing both internal and external Tempo meetings and events

  • Helping provide candidates interviewing for roles at Paradigm with a smooth interview experience

  • Help support the Legal and People Teams with building systems and managing workloads.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience -- ideally direct executive admin support with experience supporting multiple leaders in early stage or growth-stage startups

  • Evidence of grit: the ability to adapt and overcome in rapidly changing situations

  • Excellent written and oral communication; diplomatic and professional demeanor at all times

  • Fluent in Google office platforms and Microsoft Office, with a proven ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize multiple stakeholders, functions, and tasks

  • High levels of integrity and discretion

  • Based in the Bay Area and willing to come into the office in San Francisco 1-3 days per week.

Attributes

  • Exceptional team player; people-oriented

  • Lots of startup experience

  • Great listening skills

  • Clear and concise communication, in both 1:1 and public settings

  • Precise attention to detail

  • Adaptability in rapidly changing circumstances

  • Highly curious; fast learner

  • An affinity for, or interest in, crypto markets
