Smart Contract Developer

Join us as a Smart Contract Developer at Sorella Labs, where you will be responsible for developing and maintaining smart contracts that power our cutting-edge decentralized trading systems. This role is perfect for those with deep expertise in Solidity and a passion for creating secure, efficient, and innovative decentralized applications (dApps).
This full-time role is open to remote candidates, with a preference for in-person hybrid work in our Soho, Manhattan office.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy smart contracts for our decentralized trading systems and MEV-aware infrastructure
- Implement and maintain Solidity-based contracts for various decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, including automated market makers (AMMs), liquidity pools, and staking mechanisms
- Ensure security and resilience of contracts through thorough audits, testing, and adherence to best practices
- Collaborate with backend, frontend, and protocol teams to integrate smart contracts with our overall architecture
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests for smart contracts, ensuring full test coverage
- Analyze and optimize gas costs, improving the efficiency of on-chain operations
- Maintain and manage contracts after deployment, ensuring continued functionality as the system evolves
- Stay updated on the latest developments in Ethereum, DeFi, and smart contract best practices
Qualifications
- Extensive experience with Solidity and smart contract development on Ethereum
- Strong understanding of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and Solidity design patterns
- Experience in designing secure and efficient smart contracts, with a solid track record in DeFi applications
- Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Hardhat, Truffle, or Foundry
- Ability to work effectively in an asynchronous work environment, both as part of a team and independently
- Strong knowledge of security best practices for smart contract development and deployment
- A passion for writing clean, efficient, and scalable Solidity code
Nice to Haves
- Experience with Layer 2 solutions and cross-chain protocols
- Previous experience contributing to open-source projects in the Ethereum or DeFi ecosystems
- Familiarity with formal verification tools and techniques
- Background in mathematics or cryptography
- Knowledge of MEV and its impact on Ethereum transactions
Compensation Range
$175-225K base + equity
This is an expected compensation range but may vary depending on the level of experience.
