About the Opportunity

We’re looking for a product manager with 10+ years of experience to join MoonPay’s Platform group. You’ll work with a talented team of PMs who build the shared foundation for MoonPay’s portfolio of products (Payments, KYC/Identity, Payments Risk, Crypto, and more). You will enhance the experience for MoonPay’s customers converting fiat to crypto (or vice versa) across an expanding set of countries, payment methods, and currencies. Your mission is to help MoonPay become the preferred choice for onboarding and off-boarding into Web3.


What you will do...

  • Product Strategy: Define product strategies and milestones to deliver consistent value to users effectively.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

  • Metrics and Analysis: Define KPIs and analyze product and payments performance using data.

  • Market Research: Identify opportunities, analyze competitors, and stay informed about local markets and industry trends.

About you...

  • You’re an experienced Product Lead who is hands-on and knows how to drive meaningful outcomes. You’re comfortable using data to differentiate between signals and noise.

  • You love solving complex technical challenges. Most companies spin up new, separate teams for each additional backend service or capability to deal with complexity. This challenge excites you because it allows you to flex your creative, technical, and analytical muscles in designing scalable platform infrastructure and processes—i.e., building code and automated processes that can be managed by a finite number of teams.

  • We believe people are most effective when empowered to make decisions. Instead of being told what to do, you’ll work with the Platform Group and each team to create their own vision, roadmap, and KPIs to achieve our mission. Ultimately, accountability lies with you and your team.

  • Building scalable platform infrastructure requires a common vision across at least five teams. You’ll be expected to be hands-on with one of these teams directly, while leading Product Managers in the others. At MoonPay, we believe in the player-coach philosophy and do not hire people solely for managerial roles.

  • You have a proven track record of launching successful products or features in payments, fintech, or adjacent highly regulated industries like crypto. You don’t need to be a crypto expert (no prior experience in crypto is necessary), but you should be familiar with the backend of a regulated FinTech company.

What You Will Need:

  • FinTech Experience: Domain knowledge gained through hands-on experience launching features or products.

  • Comfortable working with engineers: Build strong relationships and earn their trust.

  • Problem-Solving: The ability to regularly unblock engineers in their decisions and confidently suggest alternative solutions.

  • Data-Driven Decisions: Experience making decisions based on data in complex situations.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Team Collaboration: Proactively collaborate with teams (Ops, Banking, Engineers, etc.) to break down and structure problems, rather than working in isolation.

  • Positive Team Culture: Foster a positive working culture within your team—engineering, banking, ops, etc. Ensure feedback and ideas from the team are incorporated into decisions, rather than unilaterally making them. Inspire your team to work together.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for data-driven decision-making.

  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.

  • Hands-On Mentality: In situations with limited resources, instinctively jump in to help the team with any task that needs attention.
