Lightspark is looking for a People Operations Manager to join our team! In this role, you’ll be at the heart of scaling our People infrastructure, blending hands-on work with strategic thinking. You’ll manage everything from total rewards development and immigration to systems integrations, as well as policy development. Plus, you’ll be the go-to person for employee queries and requests. You’ll have the chance to build long-term strategies and innovate operational processes to support our growth. Your efforts will help us run smoothly and ensure an exceptional employee experience!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and advance the People Operations infrastructure in order to support business growth and provide an exceptional employee experience across the employee lifecycle
  • Support the Chief People Officer with designing and implementing programs that enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention for the long term
  • Manage and continually improve our compensation and benefits programs to ensure they are competitive and aligned with our company's goals and values. Handle benefits administration, payroll oversight, leave management, relocation and immigration processes.
  • Ensure that the company complies with all relevant labor laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures to support a compliant and ethical workplace.
  • Identify key metrics and support the build out of data and analytics to drive People decision-making and measure the effectiveness of People initiatives.
  • Support the identification and manage the implementation of HR systems to ensure seamless operations and accurate data management
  • Build KPIs and metrics to support how we address and resolve employee queries and requests promptly and efficiently
  • Partner with the Chief People Officer to build long term strategies for People infrastructure
  • Assist managers in managing employee relations issues, offering guidance and best practices to maintain a positive and productive workplace culture
  • Proactively identify ways to continuously innovate and improve HR practices and processes
  • Maintain a very high level of confidentiality and attention to detail in all HR operations and documentation.
  • Be a great teammate and collaborator, working effectively with colleagues across the People team, cross functional partners and leadership

What you’ll have:

  • 8+ years of experience in a similar People Operations or HR role, preferably in a tech or fintech company that has seen scale
  • Experience working in a startup environment building programs from scratch
  • Strong systems experience including vendor management (PEO, third party payroll), HR systems assessment and implementation, data management, reporting, KPI identification
  • Demonstrated ability to build, implement and communicate HR policies
  • Experience with total rewards including compensation methodology and support and benefits selection and management
  • Deep knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, regulations and compliance requirements
  • Ability to influence and build trusting relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Experience in program and change management
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey information and build trust with employees
  • Demonstrated experience in managing employee relations and resolving workplace issues
  • Highly numeric with a proven ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and detail in all People Operations tasks.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with finance and legal teams
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to innovate and apply a modern approach to building successful people operations
  • This role is based onsite in Culver City, Los Angeles and the People Operations Manager will need to be located in or willing to relocate to Los Angeles.

Compensation Range: $160K - $185K
