Principal Technical Sourcer
Irreducible
Who are Irreducible? We’re a high-performance cryptography startup with an exciting hardware twist. Essentially, we utilize custom hardware to accelerate zero knowledge proofs. We hire for deeply technical positions covering Cryptography, Systems Software, Hardware Engineering, and Infrastructure. We are predominantly a Rust and SystemVerilog house, but will hire for other coding languages from time to time.
So why should you join us? We’ve nearly completed our Series A fundraising round and are positioning ourselves to have a strong 2025. This role is a crucial part of our talent strategy into 2025 and beyond. Our people team is currently made up of 3 people, and you would be the 4th hire. Hiring a sourcer at such an early stage shows how committed we are to building a strong foundation, and will also give you an opportunity to build out skillsets that you just wouldn’t find in larger / enterprise set-ups.
What are we looking to hire? We’re looking to hire a Principal Sourcer to find the best engineering talent for Irreducible. You’ll have the opportunity to build and create our talent acquisition strategies, as well as developing our sourcing best practices and processes. We’re a small but mighty team of 25 people, 22 of those sitting in Engineering.
What does success look like? Success in this role over the next six months will involve finding, engaging and evaluating high quality candidates to meet our company's hiring needs for Engineering positions across the business. It will also require building and collating phenomenal talent pools to create a strong infrastructure for future growth. We hire from backgrounds including AI, Web3, HFT, HPC, Autonomous Driving and Web2. A key part of the role will be building out our messaging to compete with AI Talent.
This is a significant opportunity for someone with deep experience sourcing across a wide range of highly specialised roles. You’ll own hiring manager relationships with our CEO, CTO and Engineering Managers at the top of the funnel. You’ll identify and engage leading experts in their respective fields, and partner with our technical leaders to scale and optimise our teams. Given our size - you’ll also augment your role by working closely with the people team as / when / if required.
On your application - there are a couple of questions related to your sourcing experience. Please take your time with these questions, and call out your experience as best you can.
In This Role, You Will
Develop customised sourcing strategies for each of your roles, partnering very closely with our technical leadership
Build highly targeted searches that deliver candidate profiles with precision. Our positions are truly niche as well as being technically challenging (both to understand, and to source for)
Have a data driven approach - building out talent pools, project and sequences though our ATS, Ashby
Craft thoughtful approaches to candidate outreach that will engage even the most passive talent
Cultivate relationships with high priority targets over the long-term
Utilise non-traditional and creative strategies to discover undervalued talent
Take a highly organised and data driven approach to candidate tracking and funnel metrics
Effectively lead and contribute to cross-functional projects
Our Ideal Candidates Will Have
5+ years of experience sourcing for specialised roles in one of more of these domains: AI, Hardware, Web3, HPC, ARVR, and/or Autonomous Driving
Demonstrable success in hiring top technical talent at a premier tech company and/or high-growth startup
Track record of delivering candidate volume across a wide variety of roles simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of responsiveness and care to each stakeholder and candidate in process
A passion for the research and mapping components of Sourcing; it’s a long game
A mixture of sourcing art and sourcing science; we love creativity whilst valuing the data that provides actionable insights
Why you shouldn't apply
You're happy with a team of recruiters/sourcers that are predominantly early-career, mid-career, or don't thrive with ownership or autonomy
You’re not comfortable managing data sets or reporting tools
You’re uncomfortable working in a small fast moving start up. You’d prefer to be in a larger company with multiple layers of support around you
Change makes you nervous, you’d rather people, process and things stay the way they are
You struggle to manage your workload when priorities change, or strategies shift
