Flashbots started in 2020 as a research and development organization formed to mitigate the negative externalities and existential risks posed by Maximal Extractable Value (MEV). Since then, we have had an immense impact on the world of crypto through mev-geth, Flashbots Protect, MEV-Boost, MEV-Share, our open research and soon-to-be SUAVE.

About the role:

We're looking for a passionate open-source leader and maintainer for our block building efforts. As a part of that, you'll be the leader responsible for open-source efforts on our state of the art Rust block builder for Ethereum L1 and L2s. This role is pivotal, acting as a linchpin between various communities and working to leverage their unique expertise for the development of MEV public goods. Moreover, this role acts as the bridge between those communities and our internal team. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love engaging with developers, and are excited about the potential of open-source, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do:

• Define and drive a strategy around cultivating a community of contributors

• Act as a liaison between our community and internal team, expressing their needs and advocating for them

• Engage with users online

• Develop and maintain content for the codebase

• Champion the developer experience and needs of open-source contributors

• Strong experience with Rust

• Strong experience with open-source software

• Strong communication skills, particularly technical writing

• Experience in growing communities
