Your Purpose

This pivotal role involves managing and evolving local payment systems, understanding the Mexican market, its needs, and regulations, and identifying opportunities to expand our market share. As a Product Manager, you will work closely with sales, customers, designers, data scientists, and engineers to learn about the market and customer needs, and build products that deliver value to our customers. You will ensure our products meet local demands and comply with regulatory standards.

Exceptional PMs at Bitso Business will, over time, take on greater ownership responsibility for realizing our vision of building the infrastructure for the future of cross-border payments. Your deep market insights and strategic vision will be crucial in developing solutions that enhance our presence and competitiveness in Mexico.

We are a payments infrastructure provider that enables global companies (and their customers) to pay and get paid in local currency and move money across borders.

We leverage blockchain-based technology, to enable cost-effective and transparent transactions eliminating the need for pre-funding. Our platform is built on top of a single, easy-to-integrate API with direct connections to local banking rails, enabling instant local and cross-border transactions.

Who You Are

Minimum requirements

  • 3+ years of experience within the fintech or payments industry in Mexico.
  • 3+ years of experience working in product management in high-growth environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships of trust across diverse stakeholders, navigating the complexity of working across geos in a global and remote business.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English, with the ability to explain, negotiate, and persuade effectively.
  • Ability to turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into solid action plans.
  • Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced environment with a great willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Thrive in a collaborative environment involving different functions, stakeholders, and subject matter experts.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working with B2B products or industries, having direct contact with business customers, understanding their needs, pain points, and aligning an action plan with them.
  • Experience in the crypto industry is not required, but you should be a fast learner.
  • You’ve founded a business/startup or worked in a startup taking a product from 0-1

What You Will Do

  • Strategy Development: Work with the Mexico business teams to craft and execute a comprehensive product strategy for local payment systems aligned with the company’s objectives and user needs.
  • Product Ownership: Take full ownership of payment system projects from ideation through launch, including defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Collaborate with engineering, data science, UX/UI, sales, marketing, customer operations, legal, and compliance teams to develop and implement effective payment solutions.
  • Market and User Research: Conduct in-depth market research and user analysis to identify local market needs, regulatory changes, and opportunities for growth.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data analytics to inform decisions, monitor product performance, and iterate on payment system features.
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and external partners to ensure alignment and buy-in on payment system strategies.Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all payment systems comply with local regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Customer Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of customers through data analysis and customer interviews to create products that deliver real value.
  • Execution: Define clear success metrics and support your team to achieve them, proactively eliminating blockers and executing solutions.
  • Product Culture: Foster a strong product culture that emphasizes continuous testing, learning, and leveraging data and customer feedback for actionable insights.Market Insight: Stay updated on the market landscape, competitors, and trends that can impact your products and Bitso as a whole.
